Hello, I'm Molly!
I was born and raised in beautiful Southern California and completed my undergraduate degree at Arizona State University. I graduated with a BS in Communication and minors in both Special Events Management and Media Analysis. Thanks to this mentorship, I am currently the Marketing Manager for the California State Games. I transitioned into a full-time employee in June and have been learning and developing my skills ever since. I coordinate all promotional items and ensure all areas within California are aware of the Games. I am learning that it is an exciting job that always keeps me on my toes. I decided to pursue my Masters degree because I am always in search of ways to better myself and expand my knowledge. This is my last semester as I am scheduled to graduate in December of 2017 with a Masters in Business Administration and an Emphasis in Sports Management. I am so excited that my ideal career, which was always to be intertwined with sporting events, have come to life. This goal is why I chose the emphasis of Sports Management.
Like most individuals in SRM670, I am a big sports fan. The ultimate goal has always been to turn my passion for sports into a dream career. In pursuit of this dream, I have worked various positions within the sport industry. I worked for IMG Worldwide during the US Open of Surfing event located in Huntington Beach, California. I interviewed, hired, and managed every single volunteer at the US Open of Surfing Event. This event is the largest action and lifestyle event in the world and it was an amazing experience. I also worked as the Operations Assistant at Salt River Fields, the MLB Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. I coordinated pregame ceremonies during Spring Training games as well as supported all nonsporting events such as the Arizona BBQ Fest and celebrity softball games. When the MLB All-Star Game was hosted at Petco Park in San Diego, I knew I had to be involved. I volunteered the entire week in various positions supporting events such as the red carpet parade, media interviews, and Fan Fest. In addition to all of these amazing experiences, I was able to attend the Summer Olympic Games this past summer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was an unbelievable experience that I will always cherish. All of these opportunities have established my love for the sports event industry and strengthened my desire to pursue a career within this field. Now, I can add the California State Games to this list of experience. I have not been with the company for long but it has already been an amazing ride.
